In times where we find ourselves
churning against one another,
where we compete for affirmation.
Whether it is our own
or that of our peers.

We need to stop deluding ourselves.
We can not let our promise of quality be
nullified by a compromise of quantity.
We must thin the herd to ensure its
standard.
We must take what belongs to us.
When the herd lives on, so will we.

But you only get the spills.

You don’t have to like me.
But I know that I deserve respect.
We can see eye to eye.
But we don’t have to be friends.

in this world built upon
self-deprivation.
